MY APPROACH
I view counseling as a collaborative relationship where we work together to get you on a path towards change and greater happiness. My own experience tells me we each have an inherent wisdom and creativity that is guiding our path to wellness and healing. Whether providing short term help for immediate concerns, or longer term therapy to address more chronic issues, my role as your therapist is to provide an accepting, warm, safe and supportive environment where you can discover the signs within that are already pointing you in the right direction.

My Specialties
I’ve had the pleasure of working with people who occupy various intersectionalities in life - whether navigating complex cultural or racial identities, gender/s, sexualities, spiritualities or different relationship structures. I have a special place in my heart for international students and graduate students, those from the Global South and Global Majority, people who generally identify as “seekers,” artists of all kinds, and anyone traveling a path to greater wholeness.
Education & Training
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, in practice since 2009. I received my masters in Counseling Psychology from The University of Wisconsin-Madison. My bachelors degree is in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in Women's Studies (Gender Studies) from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have a longtime interest in the relationship between culture and gender, and had the pleasure of serving as the coordinator and lead therapist for the Southeast Asian Teen Village Program at the Journey Mental Health Center for 7 years. The early part of my career focused on serving children and families from high needs, low resource communities in Dane County, and children in the foster care system as well as children of families on a refugee journey.
Other hobbies which inform my work include my experience leading girls’ empowerment classes in the greater Madison area and 25 years experience performing professionally as a musician.
